Review: Point Tart Cherry Lager

by Jeff Ellingson

Point Tart Cherry Lager - CopyPoint Tart Cherry Lager is one of four beers in their Long Days series of beer.  The other flavors include Mango Lager, Lime Lager, and Watermelon Mojito Lager.  It is crafted with Two Row Malted barley, Mt. Hood Hops and Cherry Juice.  The Stevens Point Brewery started brewing beer in 1857 and they survived prohibition by producing near beer and soft drinks. It pours to a cloudy golden color with a medium white head.  The aroma is light lager with a tart cherry backing.  The light lager opening is very refreshing.  Subtle tart cherry flavor arrives at the midpoint before fading with light malty taste.  This is a tasty light summer brew that won’t overwhelm you with cherry flavor, but it may disappoint those looking for more cherry taste.
