Review: Sercy Spiked & Sparkling Variety Pack 2

Sercy Spiked & Sparkling is produced by Mother Earth Brewing Company in Kinston North Carolina.  This should not be confused with the other Mother Earth Brewing Company based in Vista California.  The breweries name was inspired by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band song, Mother Earth.  The Mother Earth Brewery was built in an abandoned brick building in downtown Kinston by Stephen Hill and Trent Mooring.  Trent is married to Stephen’s daughter.  They were able to reuse 95% of the original brick, wood, and steel from the structure in the construction process.  They strive to be as environmentally friendly as possible.  Recycled blue jeans are used to insulate the walls, solar power is used, and 80% of their staff walks, bikes or skateboards to work each day.  In 2013 Mother Earth Brewing became the first brewery to attain LEED Gold Certification.  Sercy Spiked & Sparkling was launched Spring 2019 and it is now available in 8 flavor varieties and sold in two 4 flavor 12 can variety packs.  We have already reviewed the first Sercy Spiked & Sparkling variety pack.  Today we are reviewing their second.  Sercy is made with an organic alcohol from cane sugar base, purified carbonated water, and organic fruit flavoring.

Sercy Strawberry Pineapple:  Made with organic strawberry flavoring, and organic pineapple flavoring.  The aroma leads with fruit notes including pineapple and strawberry with malty carbon seltzer undertones.  The sweet creamy strawberry entry in joined by pineapple.  It fades with foamy seltzer, sour strawberry, and tangy pineapple and finishes with banana, grapefruit peel, and carbon seltzer taste.

Grade: B

Sercy Dragon Fruit Pear:  Made with organic pear flavoring and organic flavors.  The aroma leads with floral notes.  Strawberry, pear, and watermelon follow.  The sweet strawberry and watermelon entry is joined by pear building to a bright pear and kiwi peak.  It fades with sour pear and creamy seltzer.  The finish leaves dragon fruit, pear, grapefruit zest, and carbon seltzer taste.

Grade: B+ 

Sercy Huckleberry Lemon:  Made with organic flavors.  The aroma leads with huckleberry.  Lemon and blueberry follow.  The bright huckleberry entry is joined by lemon building to a juicy fruit peak.  It fades with sweet blueberry, creamy seltzer and tart lemon.  The finish leaves lemon juice, grapefruit peel, and carbon seltzer taste.

Grade: A- 

Sercy Watermelon Acai:  Made with organic watermelon flavoring, and organic acai flavoring.  The aroma leads with fresh blackberry and watermelon.  The sweet berry entry is joined by chocolate notes.  Watermelon arrives at the midpoint.  It fades with sour watermelon, creamy seltzer, and tart berry.  The finish is semi-dry with watermelon, grapefruit, blackberry, chocolate, and carbon seltzer taste.
