st-ambroise-pumpkin-ale-image-copySt Ambroise Pumpkin Ale was introduced in 1997.  It is brewed in Montreal at the McAuslan Brewery.  In Canada this beer is sold as St Ambroise Citrouille, French for pumpkin.  Peter McAuslan opened his brewery in 1989 after a successful career as a Senior Administrator at Dawson College.  His first beer was St Ambroise Pale Ale.  The McAuslan Brewery now crafts 16 beers on a year round, and seasonal basis.  St Ambroise Pumpkin Ale is brewed with pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and clove and bottled at 5% ABV.It pours to a brown amber color with a medium tan head.  The aroma is cinnamon, brown sugar, clove and malt.  The sweet cinnamon and sour pumpkin entry has a creamy pumpkin feel.  Caramel malt and clove flavor arrive at the midpoint before finishing lightly hopped with creamy nutmeg and cinnamon taste.
