Review: Tommy Knocker Small Batch Pumpkin Harvest Ale
Tommy Knocker Small Batch Pumpkin Harvest Ale in one of ten seasonal and specialty beers brewed in Idaho Springs Colorado at the Tommy Knocker Brewing Company. They also brew eight year round beers. They craft their beers with Rocky Mountain snow melt, the finest malted barley, high quality hops and an exclusive strain of yeast. Their Pumpkin Harvest Ale is brewed with real pumpkin, molasses and spice. It pours to a dark red orange color with a thin tan head. The aroma is malty with cinnamon and molasses. The lightly carbonated thin mouth feel has an ultra light beer feel to it. The flavor enters with pumpkin, and cinnamon flavor backed by a more dominant malty brown ale. There is a hint of molasses flavor at the creamy mid point, giving way to a malty coffee, very lightly hopped finish. I pick up more pumpkin spice aftertaste than I did while drinking it. This is a very light tasting beer that only offers subtle notes of pumpkin and spice.
