Review: Tres Generaciones Anejo Cristalino
Tres Generaciones Anejo Cristalino was released February 2022. It is crafted at Tequila Sauza. Don Cenobio Sauza acquired La Antiqua Cruz distillery in 1873. In 1888 the distillery was renamed La Antiqua Cruz. In 1973 The Tres Generaciones line was created to celebrate the families 100 years and three generations of tequila making. Tres Generaciones Anejo Cristalino is made from 100% weber blue agave. The hand selected agave is fresh pressed extracting the juice before it is cooked. After fermenting without fibers the spirit is triple distilled and rested in new American White oak barrels for at least 12 months. The tequila is filtered through diatomaceous earth to gently extract the color rounding out the flavor profile. The aroma leads with vanilla and agave. Additional time brings out Chinese almond cookie, and caramel. The citrus, agave, sweet cinnamon, and floral entry is joined by vanilla building to a salted caramel and agave peak. It fades with citrus and finishes with whole orange, cake batter, Ceylon cinnamon, Pepperidge Farm Caramelized Crisp cookie, and pepper.
