Review: Tres Leches Triple Cream Liqueur

by Jeff Ellingson

Tres Leches Triple Cream Liqueur - CopyTres Leches Triple Cream liqueur was introduced in 2009 by Carriborumco.  It is bottled in Bowling Green Kentucky at 17% alcohol using Caribbean rum and cream.  The inspiration for this liqueur is the Tres Leches cake, which is named for the three milks used in its creation, evaporating milk, condensed milk, and heavy cream. In the bottle the aroma is cinnamon rum and cream.  It pours to an eggnog color and consistency.  In my mouth the feel is creamy but not thick.  The initial flavor is vanilla and cream.  I pick up some caramel notes before a spicy cinnamon rum finish.  The rum is more present in flavor than heat.  As this fades the cream continues to coat my mouth with a cinnamon cream finish.
