Review: Zackariah Harris Eggnog
Zackariah Harris Eggnog is made by Glenmore Distillery Louisville Kentucky. The Glenmore distillery is owned by Sazerac. The bottle reads it is made from eggnog and Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Glenmore also makes Zackariah Straight Bourbon Whiskey so I’m guessing that is the bourbon used here. Zackariah Harris Bourbon is aged for 3 years in new charred American oak barrels and it is bottled in the same squared shaped bottle as Jack Daniels. Probably just a coincidence. It pours to a milky yellow color. The aroma leads with dairy cream, nutmeg, French vanilla, oak, and whiskey. The cinnamon, vanilla, egg wash, and dairy cream entry has a thick mouth feel. Whiskey arrives building to a whipped cream, egg yolk, nutmeg, and whiskey peak. It fades with vanilla and finishes with salted caramel, charred oak, nutmeg, and thick heavy cream, leaving a little heat, and a mild whiskey burn with charred oak, anise, nutmeg, and whiskey taste.
