Review: Cazadores Tequila Anejo Cristalino
Cazadores Tequila was originally created by Don Jose Maria Banuelos in 1922 after years of perfecting his recipe. The family recipe was passed down for generations and in the 1970’s his grandson opened a distillery to share the tequila. Bacardi acquired Cazadores in 2002 but they continue with the same 100 year old recipe for the Cazadores Blanco tequila base. Cazadores is made at Bacardi y Compania where they start with 100% Weber Blue agave grown in the Highland region. Unlike other tequilas 99% of the raw agave juice is extracted through a unique 24 step diffusion process rather than cooking the agave first. Mozart music plays while the agave juice and yeast ferments. Th spirit is double distilled and the Cazadores Anejo expression is barrel aged in new American oak barrels for 12 months. Cazadores Anejo Cristalino is filtered to remove the barrel aging color and some of the oak notes before bottling. Read more
