Review: Captain Morgan Loconut
Captain Morgan Loconut was just released. It is made with a blend of real coconut liqueur, Captain Morgan rum, Caribbean spices, and natural flavors. This is the second follow up to their original citrus, and pepper, spiced rum flavored, Captain Morgan Cannon Blast, that was launched August 2015. Their pumpkin spiced rum flavored Jack-O-Blast was introduced September 2016. All three of these flavors are designed primarily to be consumed as a shot, but, while Cannon Blast and Jack-O-Blast weigh in at 70 and 60 proof, Loconut hits the scale at 40 proof. Read more
Review: Muddy River Coconut Carolina Rum
Muddy River Coconut Carolina Rum was released June 2015. It is one of four rums crafted at a distillery that is located 50 yards from the Catawba River. Hence the name. They also produce two Moonshine varieties. The husband and wife team of Robbie and Caroline Delaney moved into 500 feet of warehouse space they found on Craigslist in 2011. Their first product Muddy Water Silver Rum was introduced September 2012. They soon quit their full time jobs and needed more space to keep up with demand. Today they operate in a 6100 square feet warehouse in the same old textile mill. Their other rums include a Spiced, and Queen Charlotte Reserve, their oak barrel aged rum. Each rum starts with high quality molasses sourced from Louisiana and Florida sugarcane. Two new custom hybrid reflux column stills are used. After distilling, natural flavors are blended with the rum base, before hand bottling and labeling at 70 proof. Read more

Review: Wicked Dolphin Coconut Rum
Wicked Dolphin Coconut Rum was released November 2014. It is one of three rums they currently craft with 100% Florida sugar grown 35 minutes from the distillery. While Florida may be best known for their orange groves, over half of the sugar cane produced in the US is grown in Florida. The rum is small batch distilled in an American built Copper Pot Still. Real coconut water and natural ingredients are then blended before bottling at 60 proof. Read more
Review: Jumbie Coconut Splash
Jumbie Coconut Splash is made with a blend of barrel aged rum distilled in Panama, and a splash of natural coconut flavor. It is one of 4 flavor infused rums made by the Jumbie Trading Company as an homage to the spirit of the island of St Maarten. The other flavors include Pineapple, Vanilla, Mango. They also produce Rum Jumbie, a Caribbean Rum based liqueur infused with natural passion fruit flavor. Originally named Rum Jumbie Coconut Splash it has been rebranded without the Rum in the brands name. The name Jumbie comes from Caribbean lore. It was believed in the caves of a remote Caribbean Island was a well sought after rum recipe. It remained hidden for a long time as the natives feared entering the mysterious alcoves in the belief that Jumbies or spirits would possess anyone who found the recipe causing them to dance all night long. Jumbie Splash is a tribute to that rediscovered recipe. Read more
