Review: Ketel One Botanical Cucumber and Mint
Ketel One Botanical Cucumber and Mint was released May 2018 along with the previously reviewed Grapefruit and Rose, and Peach and Orange Blossom varieties. The Ketel One Botanical line was created by 11th generation distillers Carl Jr. and Bob Nolet. With over 327 years of distilling experience passed down from 11 generations they live by the family motto, quality over everything. Each variety starts with Original Ketel One vodka made from 100% GMO free European wheat. The base is re-distilled with the Nolet family’s botanical recipe in small batches through traditional copper pot stills. After distillation the spirit is infused with the natural essence specific to each variety. No artificial flavors, sugars, or carbs are added before bottling at 60 proof. Review: Stoli Cucumber Vodka
Stoli Cucumber Vodka will soon be arriving at local liquor stores nationwide. This is the first new flavored vodka Stoli has produced using their signature Stolichnaya vodka base since 2012. They did launch Stoli Crushed Pineapple and Stoli Crushed Ruby Red Grapefruit, two gluten free vodka’s made from corn and buckwheat that are flavored with natural fruit juice and bottled at 60 proof last year. Stoli Crushed Mango is coming soon. Stoli Cucumber is made from estate grown winter wheat, from fields in the Tambov region surrounding their distillery. The spirit is triple distilled. Pure artesian well water is blended to reduce to proof and the vodka is quadruple filtered through a series that includes quartz, Siberian Birch, and tightly woven cloth. While most flavored vodka’s are bottled at 70 proof, and some as low as 60 proof, Stoli Cucumber Vodka weighs in at 75 proof. Read more
Review: Hanson of Sonoma Organic Cucumber Vodka
Hanson of Sonoma Organic Cucumber Vodka is one of six vodka varieties crafted by the Hanson Family in Sonoma California. The others include Mandarin, Ginger, Boysenberry, Espresso, and their Original unflavored. The vodka base is made from organic Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and French Colombard grapes and pure artesian well water. The spirit is seven times small batch distilled in a pot still and a column still with 50 distillation plates. A proprietary seven stage filtration follows. Crop Organic Cucumber Vodka was introduced in 2008. It is made from American grown organic corn harvested from fertile soil, free of artificial fertilizers, pesticides, and chemicals. The Crop Vodka base is distilled in column stills so efficiently that no carbon treatment or charcoal filtering is required. Organic cucumbers grown in the Midwest are infused with the vodka, before bottling at 70 proof. Crop also makes an unflavored Artisanal Vodka, an organic Tomato, and Meyer Lemon flavored vodka. 8 Degree Cucumber Vodka is made from grain. It is distilled eight times in the Netherlands. Pristine spring water is added to reduce to proof. After arriving in California, the Levecke Corporation adds cucumber flavor before bottling at 70 proof. Read more
Review: Prairie Organic Cucumber Vodka
Prairie Organic Cucumber Vodka was released in 2013. It is made from organic #2 yellow corn grown by a co-op of 900 farmers in Central Minnesota. After harvest the corn is brought to a farmer owned co-op where it is ground up and put into a mash where it ferments. The mash is then delivered to the Prairie Distillery and distilled in a copper still. The vodka is distilled in small batches to taste rather than a set number of times. Water, sugar, natural flavor and salt are blended with the vodka base to create Prairie Organic Cucumber Vodka. Read more
Review: Western Son South Plains Cucumber Vodka
Western Son South Plains Cucumber Vodka is one of seven handcrafted flavor infused vodkas made at the Western Son Distillery in Pilot Point Texas. This is my 12th cucumber flavored vodka review, and I know of several more I have not yet reviewed. The cucumber originates from India, but now grows on most continents. China currently produces 76% of the worlds total. A cucumber with the peel is 95% water. South Plains Cucumber is made from their Texas Vodka base made from yellow corn and water filtered through reverse osmosis. The vodka is distilled ten times through a 20 foot column still and quadruple filtered. Natural cucumber essence is blended with the original vodka base before bottling at 60 proof. Read more
Review: Three Olives Cucumber Lime Vodka
Three Olives Cucumber Lime Vodka was just released. Three Olives Fresh Watermelon Vodka was also launched. Cucumber is a surprisingly popular vodka with over a dozen cucumber flavored vodka’s already on the market. Lime is clearly cucumbers favorite dance partner as Three Olives is the forth cucumber lime flavored vodka. At one time Three Olives made over 30 flavored vodka’s. A lot of these flavors can still be found at major liquor stores. It is unclear as to how many of these flavors are still made, but the recently updated Three Olives website only shows 12 varieties. Review: Rain Cucumber Vodka
Rain Cucumber Vodka is made from corn at the Buffalo Trace Distiller in Frankfort Kentucky. After seven distinct distillations and a polishing stage that adds limestone water, natural flavors are infused before bottling at 60 proof. Rain Vodka was one of the first organic vodkas, and at one time they offered an Organics line of flavored vodkas, which included Cucumber-Lime, Red Grape Hibiscus, Lavender Lemonade, and Honey Mango flavors. These have been replaced by a lineup that includes only two flavors, Cucumber and Mango. Gone from the bottles label is the word Organic. This leads me to believe these vodkas are no longer produced with organic corn. Read more

Burnetts Cucumber Lime Vodka was introduced April 2016. It is one of 37 flavored vodkas currently produced by Heaven Hill Brands under the Burnetts label. This is the third brand of vodka to create a Cucumber Lime Vodka flavor. The other two are Rain, and Svedka. Burnetts Cucumber Lime Vodka is made from 100% grain in Bardstown Kentucky.
