Hard seltzer has attracted a lot of attention from the big boys of the malt beverage world in 2016. Boston Beer Company the makers of Sam Adams Beer, Coney Island Hard Soda, and Angry Orchard Hard Cider launching Truly Spiked Sparkling. Mark Anthony Brands the maker of Mikes Hard introduced White Claw Hard Seltzer. Anheuser Busch also acquired the Spiked Seltzer brand. Smirnoff Spiked Sparkling Watermelon Seltzer is brewed as a premium malt beverage with natural fruit flavors infused. No sugar or artificial sweeteners are added, and it is crafted to remove gluten. Review: Truly Spiked and Sparkling Sicilian Blood Orange
Truly Spiked and Sparkling Sicilian Blood Orange was just released. It is one of 4 hard seltzer flavors made by this division of the Boston Beer Company. Their other flavors include the previously reviewed Colima Lime, Pomegranate, and Grapefruit and Pomelo. This is the company that also produces Samuel Adams Beer, Angry Orchard Hard Cider, Twisted Tea Hard Iced Tea, and Coney Island Hard Soda. These guys know how to have fun. Hard Seltzer is a relatively new product category but it is growing fast and with the recent acquisition of Boathouse Beverage, the makers of Spiked Seltzer by Anheuser Busch, things are sure to heat up. The Mark Anthony Group, the makers of Mike’s Hard Lemonade, also recently launched White Claw Hard Seltzer. The other flavors include Cranberry, Grapefruit, and Raspberry. Nauti Seltzer is made with a clear neutral malt base. Natural flavors are then added. Nauti Seltzer Cranberry is one of four hard seltzer flavors recently released by the Craft Cocktails Company. The other flavors include Raspberry, Grapefruit, and Lemon Lime. This is one of two cranberry flavored hard seltzer I am aware of. Spiked Seltzer makes a Cape Cod Cranberry flavor. Unlike the other hard seltzers on the market today, Nauti Seltzer is made with a clear natural malt base at the Washusetts Brewing Company. Natural flavors are then added. While this is the same way Mikes Hard Lemonade is made, the Truly, Spiked, and White Claw hard seltzer brands, start with a base of alcohol made from cane sugar. Read more

Nauti Seltzer Raspberry is one of four hard seltzer flavors recently released by the Craft Cocktails Company. With hard soda now accounting for over 1% of beer sales, and flavored seltzer water sales growing double digits each year, it was only a mater or time before someone introduced a hard seltzer. By my count there are now four hard seltzer brands. While all four brands have a grapefruit flavor, and three offer a lime flavor, Nauti is currently the only one that offers a raspberry flavor. Nauti Seltzer is made with a clear neutral malt base and natural flavors are added. Nauti Seltzer Grapefruit is one of four hard seltzer flavors released by the Wachusett Brewing Company April 2016. The other flavors include Lemon Lime, Cranberry, and Raspberry. The Washusett Brewing Company has been brewing beer since 1994. They are the second largest packaging brewer in Massachusetts. The Samuel Adams Brewery is number one. After investing $5 million in a canning line and automated brewing system they are now capable of producing 4 million cases of product a year. Truly Spiked and Sparkling Colima Lime is one of three hard seltzer flavors recently introduced by the Boston Beer Company. One half of Mexico’s limes are grown in the state of Colima, the fourth smallest state in Mexico. Colima is bordered by the Pacific Ocean, and the states of Jalisco, and Michoacán. The Mexican or Colima lime is from the same family as the Florida Key Lime. The main difference is where it is grown.
