Review: Kirkland Irish Cream Liqueur

Kirkland Irish Cream Liqueur is made in Ireland.  Kirkland is the house brand of Costco, so you will need a membership to purchase this product.  The listed ingredients include fresh dairy cream, Irish Whiskey, whey spirits, and hazelnut, but the label also promises chocolate and caramel flavor.  Kirkland Irish Cream Liqueur is only available in 1.75 liter bottles, but at $15.99 a bottle, the price is comparable to a 750ml bottle of Baileys. Review: Baileys Espresso Crème Irish Cream

Baileys Espresso Creme Irish Cream - CopyBaileys Espresso Crème Irish Cream will soon arrive on store shelves in the US.  I was lucky to get my hands on a bottle a little early.  Baileys still makes a coffee flavored Irish Cream, but it is no longer available in the US.  Espresso Crème is made with aged Irish whiskey, grain spirits, fresh dairy cream, and real Columbian coffee.  While this ingredient list reads just like their Bailey’s With a Hint of Coffee Irish Cream, I’m guessing this version has amped up the coffee content.   Read more »

Review: Maloneys Irish Country Cream

maloneys Irish Country CreamMaloneys Irish Country Cream is crafted by Terra’s, in Bailieboro, County Cavan Ireland.  Terra’s also creates Molly’s, and is the contract producer of Coole Swan, Brady’s, and O’Dowd’s Irish Cream.  If that’s not a full enough resume, their management team also helped build the Emmets and Baileys line of Irish Cream liqueurs.  All of these Irish Creams are produced and bottled in the original Emmets building that was later purchased by Baileys.  It is now home to Terra’s, the world’s largest family owned producer of Irish Cream liqueurs.  There are a number of things I look forward to.  This list includes the start of football season, weekend’s, vacations, and sampling Irish Cream liqueurs made by Terra’s.  Maloney’s Irish Country Cream is made with rich Irish dairy cream, premium milk chocolate, Madagascar vanilla, grape wine imported from Spain, and Irish spirits.  It is bottled at 27.8 proof, lighter than the 34 proof their whiskey based Irish Cream liqueurs are bottled at. Review: Baileys Salted Caramel Irish Cream Liqueur

baileys salted caramel - CopyBaileys Salted Caramel Irish Cream Liqueur was introduced just in time for Thanksgiving, or as some people call it, the start of Irish cream season.  It replaces Baileys with a hint of Caramel.  In one year Baileys has completely revamped their flavored line of Irish Cream.  Gone are their Hint of Caramel, Coffee, Mint, and Hazelnut.  These flavors have been replaced with Chocolate Cherry, Vanilla Cinnamon, and now Salted Caramel.  By my count that leaves us one down from last year, maybe Baileys has a pre-Christmas surprise.  If that’s the case I’m hoping they start sharing their Orange Truffle or Chocolat Luxe flavors.  These are two flavors Baileys has kept to themselves across the pond. Review: Baileys Chocolate Cherry Irish Cream

002 - CopyBaileys Chocolate Cherry Irish Cream was just launched and I was lucky enough to get my hands on a bottle a little early.  It is one of six Irish Cream flavors Baileys currently creates for the US market.  While I had heard rumblings of a new Baileys flavor to replace the recently departed Baileys with a Hint Of Mint Chocolate, I had not heard any specifics.  My initial thought was Baileys might start bringing over some of the tempting flavors they have kept on their side of the pond.  Flavors like Orange Truffle, Biscotti, or possibly even their Chocolat Luxe.  While I have not given up hope of tasting those three flavors, I am very excited to break open my bottle of their new Chocolate Cherry.  Baileys describes the taste as their Original Baileys blended with luscious chocolate and seductive dark cherries.  I can’t wait.
