Review: Mayenda Tequila Blanco
Mayenda Tequila Blanco was released in the US and Mexico April 2023. Named for Mayahuel, the Aztec Goddess of agave, Mayenda is crafted at Casa San Nicolas in Arandas Mexico. The distillery is owned by Campari. Campari only produces their own tequila brands at this distillery including Cabo Wabo, and El Espolon. With dozens of spirits in their portfolio including Wild Turkey, Grand Marnier, Appleton Rum, Skyy Vodka, Bulldog Gin, and Frangelico, Campari is now the worlds sixth largest spirts company. Mayenda is crafted by Maestro Tequilero Jesus Susunaga Acosta with 100% agave grown in the Los Altos region. Once distilled they macerate roasted pina’s, and blend fresh agave nectar in the distillate before a final distillation in a copper pot still. The tequila is bottled on site and the label is made from 100% agave byproducts. Read more
