Review: Odd Side Hard Seltzer
Odd Side Hard Seltzer is crafted by Odd Side Ales in Grand Haven Michigan. Founder and Owner Chris Michner started brewing beer inside the historic Story & Clark Piano Factory in 2010. They now brew their beer and hard seltzer, and soon they will distill spirits in a new 44,000 square foot facility. The old piano factory now serves as their taproom. Head Brewer Eric Janson launched their Elevate Brand of 7% Hard Seltzer in the fall of 2019. In 2020 they changed their formula and now produce a 5% hard seltzer with 110 calories, 0 sugar and 0 carbs. Since then they have created 36 different flavor varieties. That’s more than Truly or White Claw. Odd Side is made from a dextrose alcohol base and natural flavors. Odd Side does not make a variety pack of flavors, opting only to sell their hard seltzer in single flavor six packs. Today we are sampling and reviewing 4 of these flavors. Read more 
Review: Founders Mas Agave Hard Seltzer
Founders Mas Agave Hard Seltzer was released October 2020. Founders Brewing Company was co-founded by Mike Stevens and Dave Engbers in a 9800 square foot brewery in downtown Grand Rapids Michigan in 1997. Some of the beers that made the brand famous include All Day IPA, Solid Gold Lager, Centennial IPA, Unraveled IPA, 4 Giants IPA, Breakfast Stout, Founders Porter, Rubaeus Raspberry Ale, and Dirty Bastard. Spanish Brewer Mahou San Miguel acquired a 30% stake of Founders December 2014 and an additional 60% January 2020. The inspiration for the brand came from the wife of the VP of Marketing for Founders Brewing Company. She felt Founders Mas Agave Barrel aged Imperial Gose beer series with an ABV between 9.7 and 10 was a little strong for her liking. When she cut the beer with seltzer water she loved it. After that the Brewmaster and R&D Brewer spent months honing their hard seltzer recipe. The 11-14 ingredient list, found on each can of the three varieties of Mas Agave Hard Seltzer starts with filtered water and a sugar cane and organic blue agave nectar alcohol base. Review: Clear Coast Fresh Hard Seltzer Summer Variety Pack
Clear Coast Fresh Hard Seltzer recently introduced a Summer Variety Pack. The flavors include Pineapple Papaya, Strawberry Kiwi, and Orange Passion. Clear Coast was first launched by Perrin Brewing Company in Comstock Park Michigan December 2018. Clear Coast was inspired by the coastline of Michigan, the worlds longest fresh water coastline. Their first three flavors were Mango Guava, Mixed Berry, and Watermelon Lime. Clear Coast has since released a Fall Variety pack that includes Cran-Raspberry, Dark Cherry, and Grape Pomegranate. Perrin Brewing company opened in 2012 and was later acquired by Oskar Blues March 2015. They are now part of Canarchy Craft Brewing Company, a craft beer cooperative founded in 2008 by Dan Foreman, son of Reebok Founder Paul Fireman. Their stable of breweries include Perrin Brewing Company, Oskar Blues Brewery, Cigar City Brewing, Squatters Pub Brewery, Utah Brewers, Wasatch Brew Pub, Deep Ellum Brewing, and Three Weavers Brewing Company. Canarchy also produces Wild Basin Boozy Sparkling Water at Oskar Blues Brewery. Clear Creek is brewed from a malt base. Natural flavors are added. Read more
