Cutwater Bali Hai Tiki Monkey was released April 2019 in California. Distribution is spreading throughout the US. Since starting as an off shoot of Ballast Point Brewing back in 2007, Cutwater Spirits is now a completely separate company. They have grown into a 50,000 square foot production facility where they produce over a dozen spirits, a growing line of canned cocktails, and soon frozen cocktail pops. Review: Ricacha Horchata
Ricacha Horchata is made with 12.5% alcohol by Crosby Lake Spirits in Princeton Minnesota using rum from Barbados, cream, and natural cinnamon flavors. At a time when Dean’s Milk which only has a 2-3 week shelf life is introducing its Flavor Tight bottle to protect its milk from light, Ricacha goes against the grain. Standing out like a day light walking vampire against a sea of light protected cream liqueurs on the liquor store shelf, Ricacha flaunts its body in a clear see through bottle. The packaging is both modern and attractive with the font painted on the bottle and a cork included cap. Priced $4 less than Rum Chata and offering a $10 rebate at my local liquor store it was begging me to try it. I did. Claiming half the fat and less calories than the leading brand I didn’t know what to expect. Read more
